Based on Robert Louis Stevenson's enduring novel, the film chronicles Dr. Jekyll's dangerous experiment, which unleashes a terrifying alter ego upon 19th-century London.
The film explores the duality of humans, the struggle between good and evil inside all of us, and the consequences of tampering with that balance.
The pace is pretty good, but you may want to set it to play a little faster, not much action until the 2nd half of the film.
The dream and changing personality sequences are well done, nice score and sets, good cinematography, and also some very good stunts.
We can't help but wonder if this film inspired George Lucas in the creation of Star Wars?
Ultimately, this is an unsettling portrayal of psychological torment and its repercussions. The film demands some patience, yet its historical significance and masterful craft make it an essential viewing experience.
