**safety warning: strobing lights**

This serial killer thriller is an exhilarating ride full of excellent twists, as you would expect from this director dubbed "The Master of Twists", but perhaps the twists are more mature than his previous films.

The story and plot are fresh, it's an exciting reversal from the norm, knowing who the killer is from the beginning, a pressure cooker that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The performances are stellar, especially Hartnett who is both terrified and terrifying, often in the same breath; and Saleka Night Shyamalan (the directors daughter) shows she isn't a nepo baby with her talented performance bearing an eerily resemblance to the real life Ariana Grande.

The film stays strictly in the vein of psychological thriller, with off-screen kills and minimal gore.

This director has never made a sequel before, and we kind of hope he breaks his mold and writes a way for this serial killer to return to our screens.

Directed by the legendary M. Night Shyamalan, known for 'The sixth Sense' (1999), 'Signs' (2002), 'The Visit' (2015), and many more.

'Trap' cast features: Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue, Saleka Night Shyamalan, Alison Pill, Hayley Mills, Jonathan Langdon, Mark Bacolcol, Marnie McPhail, Kid Cudi, and others.

*Trigger Warning: forcible confinement *
