This low adrenaline serial killer flick carves a unique niche, offering a compelling experience akin to a true crime documentary. A narcotics addicted serial killer driven by satanic impulses carves a brutal path across the USA, staying at motels and robbing pharmacies. Following closely is a determined female cop, Georgina Campbell, whose husband, also a cop, became one of his victims. Its deliberate pace proved utterly engrossing; our phones remained forgotten.

The muscle God killer wearing an instantly iconic vintage mask is a truly memorable presence. Bloodlust finds satisfaction in varied brutal kills with the axe work standing out as particularly visceral.

The climax of the film feels a bit out of left field, we wish the story had been more of a build up to a spectacular ending, we also wish the film had been scarier.

There is a very good chance a sequel could be made.

Directed by Gavin Polone, long time producer, this is their directorial debut and they have certainly impressed with this film.
