'The Witches' Plot Summary: In late 1967, a young orphaned boy goes to live with his loving grandma in the rural Alabama town of Demopolis. As the boy and his grandmother encounter some deceptively glamorous but thoroughly diabolical witches, she wisely whisks him away to a seaside resort. Regrettably, they arrive at precisely the same time that the world's Grand High Witch has gathered.
Based on the novel "The Witches" (1983) by Roald Dahl, this film is a remake of 'The Witches' (1990).
We wish that this remake had tried to give us something new and expanded on the story, it's really just an exact remake of the original film, both films lacking in depth.
Directed by the legendary Robert Zemeckis, known for 'Beowulf' (2007), 'What Lies beneath' (2000), and 'Death Becomes Her' (1992).
'The Witches' cast features: Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, Kristin Chenoweth, Codie-Lei Eastwick, Jahzir Bruno, and others.
