Forbidden Fruits

2026

Meredith Alloway

Comedy, Horror, Witchcraft, Gore

'Forbidden Fruits' Plot Summary: At a mall store, Apple leads a secret witch cult with coworkers Cherry and Fig. New hire Pumpkin questions their sisterhood, forcing them to confront inner darkness or meet violent ends.

This film offers a darkly comedic horror where 'The Craft' (1996) meets 'Mean Girls' (2004). Four beautiful and manipulative salesgirls: Fig, Apple, Cherry, and Pumpkin; exploit their allure, manipulating men for free goods at mall. Steeped in feminist and sisterhood themes, this dynamic fuels their coven.

Unlike its spiritual predecessor, the witchcraft is subtly ambiguous, blurring genuine spells. Three gruesome, satisfying deaths punctuate the narrative, with the escalator death proving uniquely inventive. While the final death felt lame and the mall's tornado climax underwhelming, the ending delivers a satisfying, clever twist. With strong characterization, this fun film is primed for cult status among teen girls and gays.

Directed by rookie Meredith Alloway, this is their directorial debut.

'Forbidden Fruits' cast features: Lili Reinhart, Victoria Pedretti, Alexandra Shipp, Lola Tung, and others.

'Forbidden Fruits' releases March 27, 2026.
