Does the masterpiece 'American Psycho' (2000) need a remake?
No, it absolutely does not, but seeing as it has been more than 25 years since the original, someone was bound to take a swing at it eventually.

We expect this remake to stay true to the novel but to be set in present day with modern themes, perhaps there will be social media instead of business cards.

'American Psycho' remake casting rumours: Drew Starkey is rumoured to be cast in the star roll as serial killer Jason Bateman; many other actors have been rumoured like Austin Butler and Jacob Elordi, Patrick Schwarzenegger publicly stated his desire to have the role.

The author of the book the movie is based on, Bret Easton Ellis, has publicly stated that several A-list actors have turned down the role.

According to the studio behind the remake, Lionsgate, they are still refining the script and production won't start until 2027.
