This film is very reminiscent of Sleepy Hollow in many ways, except far scarier and gorier; it was inspired by the story of The Beast of Gevaudan (France).
Fair warning, the opening scene has absolutely gruesome and disgusting torture that’s hard to watch.
The film shines with its bleak atmosphere, suspense, and incredible CGI monsters.
Unfortunately, you don’t get to know any of the characters before their bloody ending.
The score is decent, but held back the film from being great.
To be noted: the film takes place more than 100 years ago, and today many consider “Gipsy” to be a pejorative word.
