André Øvredal returns to direct this sequel, he also known for The Last Voyage Of The Demeter (2023), The Autopsy Of Jane Doe (2016), and Troll Hunter (2010).

Like the original, the legendary Guillermo Del Toro is a writer on the screenplay.

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark 2 cast features: Dean Norris, Austin Zajur, Zoe Colletti, Natalie Ganzhorn, and others.

Director André Øvredal says the project is stuck in “copyright ownership hell” between CBS Films and EOne, both of which have since been dissolved or absorbed.

We are hopeful Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark 2 will release in 2027.
