This spin-off film in the Insidious Universe was previously titled "Insidious: The Bleeding World".

The series was wrapped up nicely with a bow after the last sequel 'Insidious: The Red Door' (2023).
Originally, a different spin-off was planned, 'Thread: An Insidious Tale', that was set to star Mandy Moore and Kumail Nanjiani, we no longer know if that film will be made.

Despite the character being deceased, actor Lin Shaye reprised her role as Elise Rainier, and the unconventional way she is incorporated into the story and plot really isn't great writing, it takes the film out of horror and into some family-friendly silliness that is a big departure for the franchise. We compare this to what happened in 'M3gan 2.0' (2025) where the franchise was taken from horror to family-friendly teen adventure flick.

You can expect paranormal scares as in previous films, but they aren't as scary, nothing that will give you chills or keep you up at night. What really was missing was a great complementary score that enhanced the fear in the previous films, who could forget the theme music that accompanied the red face demon, so iconic.

Overall, the film has some elements that were great and it is worth watching, but it may feel like a betrayal to die-hard fans of this franchise.
