Goosebumps

"A teenager teams up with the daughter of young-adult horror author R.L. Stine after the writer's imaginary demons are set free on the town of Madison, Delaware."
This family-friendly action-comedy is based off the body of work of legendary horror author, R.L. Stine.
Like the tv series of the same name from the 90's, this film brings his spooky stories to life and even stars a fictional version of the author.
There is really great CGI in this film, big budget for it.
Jack Black plays R.L. Stine and he may be a bit too silly for this role, but the kids won't care.
The film is very reminiscent of 'Jumanji' (1995), very much the same chaos being unleashed, and 'The Monster Squad (1987), a group of kids working together to save the day.
The movie doesn't have a lot of character development or good jokes for adults, but that's okay, put this on for your kids and enjoy some me time.
We highly recommend you read R.L Stine's spooky books with your kids before watching this movie.
There is a great sequel, 'Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween' (2018), link to film page below ↓
